Dros , the concept we worked on for this restaurant chain was family, we took the average family with kids and developed a c0ncept that the entire family can enjoy. The interior is rustic cellar type finishes huge arches,wooden bar tops , face brick walls,chandelears and open plan ceiling some areas with low dropped down ceilings the total effect would be sitting in a cellar with freidns family and kids. ( we also added in kiddies areas for kids to play while parents and friends have an enjoyable time.
Total cost per store: roughly between R2 million and R5.5 milliion to open a franchise.
Time taken for design : 3 weeks from initial brief to full building and council sub mission drawings.
Lessons learnt : Sadly due to the project never ending off at the said R2million rand start and always being above the R3million rand mark not much franchisees could afford the initial start up. There are still a few of them running in key locations that can still maintain the operating costs for the rest out of about 150 stores country wide only about 40 or so remain.
